COVENT GARDEN COMMUNITY CENTRE – LUNCH CLUB NEWS & MENU
Our Friday Lunch Club is a great way for you to go out, enjoy conversation and eat a balanced and healthy meal. It is also a great way to meet new people. CGCC at 7 Dials Club offers a different lunch each week (at an affordable price – £3.75 for a two course meal) and can provide a vegetarian alternative.

PHOENIX GARDEN GARDENING CLUB
Thursday 31st August and Thursday 7th September
Join Spencer every Thursday morning, between 11:30 and 13:00. Each session, Spencer will focus on a different aspect of gardening.
On the 31st, Spencer will be showing you how to cyanotype print. This is a fascinating way of capturing an impression of the garden. You will be collecting interesting shaped leaves and flowers to make impressions on paper and fabric that are developed by the rays of the sun.
The following session (7th September) will focus on indoor bulbs for Christmas – Christmas may seem a long way off now, but prepping bulbs such as beautifully scented Hyacinths and Narcissus ‘Tête-à-tête’ will provide something lovely to get you through the dark winter days or to give as a gift.
Joining the club is free and there is also Tea and Coffee.

STROLL WITH RICHARD – SOUTHWARK PARK & ROTHERHITHE VILLAGE
Saturday 30th September, 11:00 – 14:30
A near circular stroll from Canada Water Station to Surrey Quays Station. Follow the Albion Channel, see from where the Pilgrim Fathers set sail and explore Southwark Park, one of the first set up by The Metropolitan Board of Works in 1869 covering 63 acres. See the Ada Salter Garden, one of London’s iconic bandstands and savour one of London’s Parks set up for the well-being of hard-working locals.
The walk should take around 2 1/2 hours excluding any stop for tea and cake in the recently opened cafe by the lake.
Meet at Canada Water Station outside Sainsbury’s. Canada Water Station has step-free access, Surrey Quays does not.
