Things to do during lockdown

Friday 29th January 2021

Good morning all,

I hope your week has been a good one? Many of you have told me that you now have a structure to your week, so hopefully you will be looking forward to the weekend?

Please keep sharing with me your vaccination stories, they are really interesting to read and gives me insight into how things are (slowly) improving.

WHAT CAN I SHARE WITH YOU TODAY?

From Sue V: Covid Support for members in Camden

Camden very much appreciates it is a difficult time for residents in the borough financially, and we have seen a significant increase in demand for support. They have provided advice and information about the support available for those on low incomes. They are committed to continue to provide additional funding via their council tax reduction scheme for those on low incomes.

Covid health Champion

From Dr Chua: Become a Covid-19 Health Champion

COVID-19 continues to impact us all. Camden want to empower communities to make informed choices about how to reduce the risks of COVID-19 and keep safe. This is why we have created the COVID-19 Heath Champions programme in Camden and Islington. Who can become a COVID-19 Health Champion? Anyone who lives, works or volunteers in Camden or Islington. As a COVID-19 Health Champion, you will be given the latest and most up-to-date information to share. For example, about NHS Test and Trace and social distancing. You will also get to do free training called ‘Good Conversations in challenging times’. The training is delivered virtually over zoom and takes 2 hours to complete.

Things to do during lockdown

From Chris T:

With more time being spent at home, we are all looking for new, exciting, but safe ways to beat the boredom of being within the same four walls. Here are some suggestions!

1. Watch NASA at work, and see Earth from space. You can watch live round-the-clock footage of NASA Astronauts aboard the ISS – which means you’ll get to see stunning aerial views of Earth from space. It’s really quite breathtaking.

2. Travel the world with your taste buds. Travel may be limited right now, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy exploring in your own kitchen. While most of us are familiar with lasagne and linguine, when it comes to foreign cuisine there are so many great-tasting dishes out there that most of us haven’t even scratched the surface with. 8 recipe ideas from around the world:

I met a friend to do a socially distanced walk the other day. We meet in Postman’s Park. Do you know it? It’s an interesting little park near St Pauls. We walked to St Pauls and over the wibbly wobbly bridge. It was a beautiful morning for it and London is so lovely. And so lovely to be able to chat with my friend.
