Friday 27th March 2020 – Day Four

Thank you to everyone for tonight’s suggestions and links:

FOOD / SHOPPING – From Phil: M & S have teamed up with Deliveroo to do home deliveries of basics:

From Chris, who thought he would share this Meatball Recipe in case people are getting bored with their food and would like something a little different, not too expensive but still quick and easy to make:

80-100g of roughly chopped fresh coriander – less if using dried
500g of mince
2 tbsp tikka curry powder
2 carrots peeled and roughly grated
198g can of sweetcorn with peppers

Preheat oven to 200. In a mixing bowl, put in all the ingredients and mix together seasoning to taste. Make 20-24 meatballs and put on a baking tray. You can brush them with a little oil, I spray with Fry Light. Cook for 25-30 minutes and you’re done. Chris had them with salad but they’re just as good with pasta, rice, etc and are good cold as snacks.

HEALTH Thank you Alison for the following:- YMCA are on line and their weekly timetable goes live from Monday Online Class Timetable

If these are too strenuous for you, perhaps this gentle exercise video from Chris (which can be done seating or standing)

ARTS & CULTURE – From Chris Barlow: The Southbank Sinfonia team has collaborated to curate the ultimate playlist for listening to at home, to raise your spirits and soothe your soul during these uncertain times. Why not use your time at home to unearth a new favourite artist, re-discover a favourite symphony, or develop a penchant for French Canadian funk? Meditate, dance, cry, listen in new ways. We may be socially distancing, but let’s socially connect. From future soul to Bruckner to bum-wiggling disco, we have your self-isolation listening covered.

Thank you to Jenna for sharing a link that explores the London Transport Museum online collection.

Ok, that’s it for me, it has been a strange week, and cannot believe it’s Friday. I am back tomorrow and the weekend. A couple of members have suggested a summary of the information that I have shared this week, which I will sort out.

Have a good evening …now must look for a can opener!

John
