Wednesday 13th May 2020 – Day Fifty One

Good morning all!

This lockdown can be difficult to cope with, and we all get low from time to time. Please contact us, if we can help in some way; perhaps point you in the right direction or just want to chat with someone. This morning, one of the members was feeling this way and reached out to me and shared this quote, which I thought summed it up nicely –

The Fight of Two Wolves Within You

An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life: “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy.

“It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil–he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you–and inside every other person, too.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: “Which wolf will win?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

Please get in touch if you need help!

What can I share with you today?

Reduce energy wastage in the West End.
Let’s make the most out of this situation by saving these resources and asking businesses to turn down their lights. It’s a small task that could make a big difference.

FUNNY SIDE OF LIFE

From Sam

Words of wisdom and humour, while we survive lockdown

It may look like I’m doing nothing, but in my head I’m quite busy

If you’re hotter than me, then that means I’m cooler than you.

From Anna

I’d like to share a quote from Rob Rinder’s column in yesterday’s Standard:

He talks about his empty diary:  “With absolutely nothing to do, my joy of doing absolutely nothing has been destroyed.”

I can certainly relate to that!
