The Body - A Guide for Occupants

Lockdown Reads

The Body – A Guide for Occupants

Bill Bryson starts at the head and goes down to the feet telling facts about each part of the body, stories about when they go wrong and discoveries made through the ages.

There are interesting anecdotes about famous cases, including Isambard Kingdom Brunel swallowing a penny.
I loved this book, I’m fascinated by how our bodies work and how many things can go wrong with them. I was delighted to read a mention of my own illness in the book – a heart condition called Ebstein’s Anomaly.
