Tuesday 26th May 2020 – Day Sixty Three

Good morning all, hope that your Tuesday is going well.

I had a tough day yesterday, I won’t bore you with the ins and outs – but I felt low and unmotivated. Many of you have mentioned the term ‘no light at the end of the tunnel’. And I think that was how I felt. Work is always my focus and provides me with structure, but yesterday…….yesterday I missed my sons and friends very much.

Then I remembered a link that Chris Barlow sent me: Action for Happiness. It had an immediate effect on me and, after finding the motivation to do some exercise and go for a walk, my mood lifted – a chat with my eldest son, and I felt more like myself.

My point is this; if you are feeling low, please do give Amber, Genia, Leah, Michaela or myself a ring (number at the bottom of this post). Just sharing these negative thoughts can help – we are here for you, please do make contact.

From Sarah (Queens Gallery).

Reading Paintings in the Royal Collection
Dawn Purkiss will be leading us in a fascinating study of paintings held within the Royal Collection. Together we will be looking at two paintings each week examining, for example: style, colour, mood, composition, symbolism, mythology, fashion, and medium.

Dawn will help us de-mystify a painting teaching us how to ‘read’ an art work. She will also encourage us to consider extending our studies to objects found at home via art, drama or photography etc. More details will be revealed on the day. If popular, it is hoped that this will become a regular series of Zoom sessions led by Dawn every Thursday at 2pm.

Beware of COVID-19 scams.
Unscrupulous criminals are exploiting fears about COVID-19 to prey on members of the public, particularly older and vulnerable people who are isolated from family and friends.
