Good afternoon everyone,
I hope that your week is going well so far. My thanks to Leah and Bea for their support with the newsletter – judging from the feedback, members are appreciating the different styles and content!
Here is our Thursday update.
WHAT CAN I SHARE WITH YOU TODAY?
Just to remind you that we have a real treat next Tuesday (23 Feb.) from 2pm. I have organised a Live Music Now Concert. A chance to enjoy some new music, the lively and imaginative introductions and an opportunity to participate.
Lakeside Brass Quintet will be providing a FREE 45 minute concert.
Funded by the D’Oyly Carte Charitable Trust
Have you lived in the Holborn area for many years?
They are looking for six people to participate who have lived in the Holborn area for many years, ideally since childhood. Each session will last around one and a half hours. Historic photographs of Holborn will be presented and extracts from the archives and local history books read as talking points for discussion.
Each week will focus on a different aspect of local life. The proposed themes are: childhood, work, shops, and entertainment. It is intended at the end to produce a booklet recording the memories for each participant and for the archives.
The sessions will take place using Zoom and will run from 11am to 12.30pm on Tuesdays. There will be an introductory session on Tuesday 2nd March with the four main sessions following on the 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th of the month.
