Good morning all,

I hope that your weekend is going well. I shall be going away for a few days next week, for a much-needed mini-break, so I thought I would send out an early newsletter with some updates. Please note that there will be no Yoga, Digital Workshops or Tai Chi this week, however, the Flamenco class is going ahead.

Happy Sunday

Around and About

After these last challenging months, Cultural events are happening in Camden once again and the Camden Together Season aims to celebrate our rich, diverse and vibrant cultural landscape through music, dance and public art.

To find more details about the Camden Together season and programme of events, please visit:

“Here and There; Stories of British Bangladeshis in Camden” is an exhibition which was commissioned by the Bengali Workers’ Association (BWA) and curated by Faridha Karim with funding support from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

It was first exhibited in 2011 at the Surma Centre, Robert Street, the home of the BWA and later at Camden Local Studies and Archives Centre where it has been subsequently deposited. We are pleased, with the BWA’s agreement, to now present the exhibition on our web page here:

The Marchmont Community Centre is extremely proud to be hosting “An Evening Snapping with Bill” Photographic Exhibition, on Wednesday, August 25th, from 6 -7:30pm.

The Photos on display at this exhibition have not before been seen by the public and they are superb examples of his discerning eye, his humour and his unique perspective on the world.

Please come along if you can. Refreshments will be available!

The Ice Cream Festival 2021 (20th – 30th August 2021)

The Covent Garden Cool Down is back! From 20th August, Covent Garden’s much loved annual ice cream festival The Covent Garden Cool Down will return to the pedestrianised heart of London; turning the Piazza, Market Building and surrounding streets into London’s coolest place to spend the August Bank Holiday weekend. Now in its third year and running for ten days, the Covent Garden festival will have over 40 varieties of ice cream, sundaes, sorbets, frozen cocktails, gelato and more.

Hi, I’m Melissa, the new support worker for the Over 55’s project. This week I had the pleasure of meeting some members and teachers who all made me feel most welcome (thank you).

And I look forward to meeting more of you in September when I start officially.
