From January 2011, we are running a new and exciting weekly After-School Club for 8 to 12 year olds  at the Covent Garden Community Centre on Mondays from 3:30pm to 6:30pm.

Taking the idea from our Friday session, we have a subject based hour from 3.30pm to 4.30pm, followed by two hours of activities. This term we have:

Week A- Spanish & Cookery

Week B- Mad Professor Science & Swimming

The idea is that children and young people are able to learn important new knowledge, skills and understanding in an informal way. We hope to take the mystery out of subjects which can be dull and boring, bringing them to life. These sessions will all be run by trained teachers or qualified professionals, with a skill and passion to pass on.

We started on Monday 10th January with Spanish & Cookery. Chef Tom Ewer takes the class. This week we discovered flavoured mash potatoes, mustard, beetroot, spinach and chocolate mash! YUMMMM…..
