A community Art Show at The Seven Dials Club, 42 Earlham Street

The Seven Dials Club, funded by the St Giles Project is to hold an exhibition of art by people living and working in the Covent Garden area from 10th December to 9th January, with a private view on Wednesday, 9th December 2009.

Art in the Garden is designed to show and to celebrate the range of artistic talent within the Covent Garden community. The exhibition will ge the gala premiere in the Seven Dials Club. Paintings, drawings, sculpture, fabrics, crafts, photography and video are all eligible.

Anyone wishing to submit work should contact Suzie Herschelle on 07503 481 334. Work will need to be frought for hangin in the morning on 7th December.

While the exhibition will represent as many artists as possible, a decision will be made by a viewing committee to allocate art within the space available, depending on the amount of work submitted. This decision will be made on the afternoon of the day artists submit their work. All work must be removed from the Club after the decision has been made and those invited to exhibit in Art in the Garden (which will be as many and as varied as possible) will receive further details at that point.

Art in the Garden will open with a private view on Wednesday 9th December. The exhibition will run to Sunday, 9th January.

Conditions of entry:
Art in the Garden is open to anyone living, working or studying in the Covent Garden area, defined for the purposes of this event as the area bordered by The Strand in the south, Great Russell STreet in the north, Kingsway in the east and Charing Cross Road in the west.

All work submitted to and accepted for the Art in the Garden exhibition is submitted at the artists’ own risk. Insurance of any work is the responsibility of the artists, and work is submitted and displayed at their own risk. The organisers cannot accept responsibility for any damage, loss or theft.

All work must be submitted and removed on the dates and within the hours specified. There is no storage facility at The Seven Dials Club so any uncollected works will either be disposed of or stored elsewhere at the discretion of the viewing committee, and any such storage costs will be charged to the artists.

All artists whose work is accepted will be fiven four invitations to the Private View. Artists and the title of their works will be credited in an exhibition catalogue/listing.
